Happy Ending

A few days ago a couple of women ran into Dawg Central, very concerned about being harrassed by a dog on the street. We went out and saw the dog which was worrying them; a Staffy puppy that was lost. We brought him in, put him on a lead, gave him some of the world famous Dawg’s Lost Puppy Treats ™, and settled the little chum down. Good as gold he was, really nice little fellow, just in a bit of a state as he was lost.

Anyway we called the wardens who arrived in 10 minutes, (top marks), checked him for a chip, none, did a quick ring around to see if he had been reported, and took him away.

We took a photo, made a poster, put it in the window, and hoped. Hoped that he was not going to be a ‘Christmas dog’, an unwanted pet, something abandoned.

Next day we phoned the wardens. Staff pup had been collected within the hour, and was back in a loving home, and chipped.

Happy ending.

Please, please …get them chipped. AND give them tags for their collars with a telephone number and address, (which is a legal requirement in the UK).

Top marks to your Dog Wardens. Handy tip- never pick up a lost dog on a Sunday as I did. You will be expected to provide it with board & lodging until the warden gets back on duty-(in this area, anyway) Long story but another happy ending- dogs ‘owner’ never found but dog rehomed with a REAL owner and now happy as a dog in Dawgland.
